Week 4 Updates!

Singers,

Take care of your voices!  As we enter allergy season, and school work gets busier, it's important to stay healthy by getting plenty of sleep and drinking lots of water.  Take breaks when you need to and pace yourself.  Maintain a routine and consistent practice routine with vocal warmups included

Week 3 News and Notes

Students:

- A huge thank you to all the students and parents who volunteered their time Saturday! The bottle and can drive was once again a huge success! Thank you!

- This week will be Tenor Sectional Tuesday, and Bass Sectional on Thursday.  
- We will also begin Senior District practices on Wednesday

- Don't forget to let me know your T-Shirt/Long Sleeve Shirt Request and Size via email.  The list of available sizes can be found in a recent post below this one.

- New members, please turn in your check/size sheet for the concert dresses.  I would like to get them ordered as soon as possible 

- Use the part tracks to help you practice, this will make rehearsals easier and more enjoyable when you know your parts well!  Let me know if you have any trouble with Dropbox

- Anyone interested in an EBoard position should email me your letter of request soon

- Keep an eye out for an update soon regarding an evening rehearsal in late October at KP.  I'm working on arranging bus transportation, and we would rehearse all together in preparation for our concert!  It'll be a fun evening, and a chance for you to meet other music students from another high school.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!  Just like that, two weeks of school in the books.

I hope you all have had a fantastic week!  I want you to know that I appreciate the hard work you have put in during rehearsals this week, and I greatly value the opportunity to make music with you, and I hope you do as well.  This is going to be a fantastic school year!

Reminders!
This Saturday is the Bottle and Can Drive!  10am-2pm.  If you signed up (or even if you didn't), please come out to the IGO on Saturday and help out.  It's a fun day, there will be food and drinks, and lots of students from Choir, Orchestra, and Band!  It's a really good time, and the FMA helps us raise a lot of money for our program!

T-Shirt Orders

Now that we have a design chosen, we can get the choir shirts ordered as soon as everyone emails me the style and size that they want.  Please consult the chart below and choose a style or styles and size.  You can order both a T-Shirt and Long Sleeve if you want --completely optional.

Note the "Ladies T-Shirt" is a more cut form-fitting shirt and the Regular T-Shirt is a standard unisex T-Shirt

Email me back and let me know your size and desired option(s) from the list below.

1) Grey Ladies T-Shirt (approx $8-10)
2) Grey Regular T-Shirt (approx $8-10)
3) Grey Long-Sleeve Shirt (approx $12-15)

Week 2 News and Notes

Vocal Music Students: Week 2 Announcements

- Sectionals start this week, 2:15-3:00 -- Tuesday-Sopranos, Thursday-Alto

- New choir ladies, please turn in your sizes and check order for your concert dress by the end of the week, boys your ties will be chosen soon by section leaders

- Monday after school is the last night for Honors Vocal Jazz auditions

- Honors Jazz Choir Tuesday night rehearsal starts this week 6:30-8:00

- Bottle and Can Drive is Saturday, 10-2pm at IGO

- Design this years Choir T-Shirt at www.customink.com, we will vote and start orders next week 

- Please finish the day one email assignment if you have not done so already

- If you are interested in an EBoard position submit a letter of intent within the next two weeks

- First FMA meeting for parents that want to get involved and for leader representative 7:30 Monday

Weekend Updates!

Vocal Music Students:

I hope you have all had a wonderful first week back at school!

Some updates/reminders for you for the weekend:

- Please email me if you haven't done so already.  You should type out your name exactly as you would like it to be in concert programs.  This will allow me to register your email address with Dropbox

-  Please log in to Dropbox if you have not done so already.  ALL of the recordings and part tracks are up there.  Start using them to listen and practice routinely!  You should be listening to the recordings every day.

-  Please listen to the Magnificat by Vivaldi over the weekend.  There are several YouTube recordings along with the one on Dropbox.  We will begin with Movement 1 and 3 on Monday!

- We will discuss Concert Attire on Monday, and I will have a letter for you to take home explaining everything

-  Please consider designing this year's Choir T-Shirt at www.customink.com.  We will put in an order in the next couple of weeks.

-  One week until the Bottle and Can Drive @ IGO Elementary School.  (Saturday Sept 17)

Welcome Back!

Vocal Music Students:

Welcome Back!  It was great to meet so many new faces today and see all the returning folks!

We have an outstanding year ahead.  If you haven't done so already, please subscribe to this blog by entering in your email address on the subscribe section to the right.

***Reminder***
If you haven't already done so, please email me at either foxborochoir@gmail.com or raymondb@foxborough.k12.ma.us and list your name how you would like to see it in programs this year.  This includes returning choir members!  I will register all new students with the Vocal Music Dropbox so you can access all the recordings and part tracks.  Now is a great time to start making those playlists for daily listening! :)

-  Honors Vocal Jazz Auditions will take place this week: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Please signup for a time.  Audition information can be found on Dropbox.

-  For any ladies interested--it is not too late to add Treble Jazz Choir to your schedule!  All are welcome!  Speak with guidance if you are interested.

We will start singing and diving into our music at our next rehearsal, start listening to the recordings and searching for recordings on Youtube regularly.  This will really help you learn the music!
