Important Updates: Chamber Concert Thursday

Singers:

-  CHAMBER CONCERT THURSDAY: Chamber Singers Call Time is 6:00pm!

-  Chamber Singers will rehearse Thursday after school at 2:00pm.
You may come in today (Wednesday) after school and work on the music if you would like.  I will be there if you want my help.  You MUST spend time practicing this music between now and Thursday.

-  I still need library help!  Everyday after school---stop by whenever you can--even if you only have time to sort a couple of songs.  Every bit helps, we still have a long ways to go!

-  I am currently looking into the evening of Monday June 6 for our Recording Session.  If everything checks out, that will be the date.  I know this is the day after Graduation for Seniors, but at the moment every other night that week and the week before is taken out.

-  Remember to be routinely practicing--even when you are not actively preparing for a performance!  It's all about trying to improve each and every day.  Better vowels, better breathing, better expression, better smoothness over breaks in your vocal range, etc.  If you want to lead others, you must lead by example! It's all about work ethic!! This is what we want to impress upon the young 8th graders joining us next year.

-  Lastly, as the year winds down, I understand that some of you might be mentally checking out and even skipping out on choir rehearsals or maybe not giving it your all.  I would strongly encourage you to fight this mentality.  The best ensembles don't quit when they're tired--they push through and never stop improving.  I will give you 100% of my energy and focus up to the last day, and I expect the same from you as young developing musicians.  Keep working every day!

Have a wonderful rest of your week ðŸ˜Š

Important Weekly Updates! May 16-20

Singers:

Congratulations on two inspiring, unforgettable performances this weekend at POPS '16!

We have a busy and very important week ahead!

Chamber Choir Rehearsals--Tuesday and Thursday of this week, 2:00-3:00pm

TO DO LIST:
- We need to design a "Foxboro Vocal Music 15-16" Album Cover, hopefully by the end of the week.  If a couple of you would like to collaborate, that would be ideal!  Remember, this is the art work that will go on the wall--we'll want it to look good!  You could put some graphics, or a quote, or some songs or concerts we performed in, whatever you would like!  Just no full roster please!  We will have the Seniors sign it--hopefully at the Pot Luck.

- I am starting a roster of library organizers.  Please email me today or ASAP if you would like to help be a part of the library sorting.  We'll be working on it over the next few weeks.

- Kelli (or any other singer/athletes), please let me know some evening dates in June that could potentially work for the recording session.  Any senior that wants to be on the recording will need to come in that night.  Perhaps we could arrange to grab some ice cream after?

- Mixed Vocal Jazz, recording session Tuesday Night 6:30-8:00pm

- 8th Grade Choir Concert Thursday Night at 6:30pm.  They will be performing with the 7th grade as well!  Please come out and support and encourage the young performers--many of whom will be performing with you next year!

- Choir Room Cleanup, Thursday at 3:00pm--anyone that can help

Weekly Update: POPS Week!

Choir students:

We have a busy week ahead as we get ready for the annual POPS Concert next Saturday and Sunday

*Important* Please try to reach out to chorus 8th graders and personally invite them to POPS.  Hopefully many of them will be helping as servers, but if they're not, please consider personally inviting them and getting them some bleacher seats.  This would be an excellent way to show those students the type of culture we have and for them to see what it's like to perform in POPS!  This could potentially be a life changing experience for them and would help you to bond with one or two of them.

Tickets are still available! Speak with Caitlin Driscoll for details

Monday-Friday Regular Rehearsal Days
Rehearsing Summertime and POPS Repertoire (rehearse with orchestra later in the week)

Tuesday and Thursday: Chamber Choir Rehearsal 2:00-3:00pm
Vocal Jazz Evening Rehearsal Tuesday: 6:30-8:00pm

Friday: POPS Decorating 2:00-9:00pm -- all are encouraged to help

Saturday POPS: 6pm warmup, 7:00 show
Sunday POPS: 11:00am warmup, 12:00 show

Do all you can do to encourage young 8th graders and your friends and family to come out!  This should be a fantastic show!  All high school music students will be asked to help out by bring food and assisting with decorations.

I am going to try to get a date picked for our first annual recording session this week.

Looking forward to a great week!
-Mr. Raymond
