Choir Updates - One Week To Go!

Singers,

We are now a week away from our first rehearsal together!

- All Part Tracks and recordings for the Fall Term Curriculum are now on Dropbox!  Vocal Jazz Tracks are being uploaded this week--most VJE Part Tracks are now up.

- Vocal Jazz Ensemble will rehearse Tuesday evening on the first day of school, 6:30-8:00pm

- Section Leaders--Leadership meetings will begin Friday the first week of school

--NEW UPDATE:

Going forward this year, all email communication from the music faculty will be to your school email addresses.  You will NEED to routinely check your school email addresses to ensure you receive all the emails.  This will align us with the rest of the District and Music Program.  I would also ask that you use your school email address when contacting myself or any of the Music Faculty as well.

I will continue to post updates and information on this website and the Twitter account. 

You can still use your personal email address to Register/Access Dropbox and to "Subscribe" to this Blogger email.

I will be sending you a detailed introductory email to all of your student email addresses, and will be asking you to respond back so I know you received it.

Friday Meet-Up Update

Hi singers,

Just a quick heads-up about Friday's choir meet-up.  We will start at 6:30, but I will probably get there around 5:30 or so.  This is an informal get-together, and is not-required.  I would like to get all section leaders together if possible, but certainly everyone else is welcome!  If you are in contact with any of the incoming Freshmen, please feel free to invite them too.

Feel free to bring some snacks/goodies!  The plan is to put together some choir folders, talk about opening day, listen to some of the music, and then check out the marching band preview show.  Everyone that comes to the meet-up will get their music ahead of time.

Hope you've all had a wonderful summer!  I hope you are all excited for the upcoming year of music!

Curriculum and August Updates!

Two weeks away from our first rehearsals of the year!

The Choir Summer Session will take place this Friday, August 25 at 6:30pm.  This is an informal and entirely optional get-together for anyone in choir (section leaders are strongly encouraged to attend).  We will discuss the school year, put folders together, listen to some of the music, and then watch the marching band preview show!  Bring some goodies and drinks if you'd like!

The 2017-2018 Choir and Vocal Jazz Curriculums are now complete!  They have been posted on the website tabs, as well as emailed out.  Part assignments for Fall 2017 were also emailed out today.  If you did not receive a part assignment and/or curriculum document, please email me at: raymondb@foxborough.k12.ma.us and I will email it out to you.

Recordings and Part Tracks are being continuously updated on Dropbox throughout the week for both Choir and Jazz.  If you are not currently connected to Dropbox and would like to be connected before the start of the school year, please email me at the above link, and I will get you connected!  It's a really good idea to start listening to the recordings before the first rehearsal...this will really help you start the year prepared!

Highlights from 2016-2017!

Summer Updates and Jazz Curriculum!

Students, I hope you are all having a wonderful summer!

-  There will be a lot of updates coming this week and next.  The Concert Choir curriculum is almost complete, and will be posted hopefully by the end of the week.  When the curriculum gets posted, I will have recordings and eventually part tracks on Dropbox!

-  Three different recordings of the Faure Requiem are now posted on Dropbox as well as a digital version of the choral score that you will get on the first day of school.  Part tracks will be coming this week!

-  Choir summer meetup will be on the afternoon of Friday, August 25th--all are welcome, I would like all section leaders there if possible!

-  The Vocal Jazz curriculum for 2017-2018 is complete for now.  I've posted it below and on the above website tab.  It is subject to change, but this should give you a general idea of the overall curriculum.  Recordings are now on Dropbox.  Part tracks will be coming soon.  

-  First evening rehearsal for Vocal Jazz Ensemble is on the first day of school
